Look what the Ohio Historical Society did over the summer. They added hundreds of new entries to and images to Ohio History Central, the Buckeye State’s online encyclopedia of history. Check it out and see what is new. The encyclopedia is now in syndication also. The Ohio Historical Society invites you to submit a photograph that illustrates what truly matters to you. Visit Picturing What Matters to find out how to send the OHS staff a personal photo -- old or new -- that represents your values, hopes or dreams. Your photograph will be displayed in conjunction with the exhibition, Picturing What Matters: An Offering of Photographs from the George Eastman House Collection. The exhibition runs from September 9, 2006 through January 27, 2007 at the Ohio Historical Center in Columbus. The electorate made sweeping changes to the Ohio legislature in last November's elections. Ohio's 128th General Assembly will be sworn in on January 5th. Visit the General Assembly's website after that date to see the new makeup of the legislature. In addition to information about pending legislation and legislative schedules, the site contains direct links to the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate, as well as a finding-aid for identifying legislative members.
