      Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame

      November 11 is Veterans Day, a national holiday that commemorates the accomplishments and sacrifices that men and women in the military service have made to protect our country and our freedom. To honor the contributions of Ohio veterans, Explore Ohio is recommending two sites this November. The Ohio Military Hall of Fame recognizes soldiers awarded medals of valor for battlefield action. The Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame acknowledges inductees for their civilian contributions after their military service.       This month marks the 40th anniversary of National Library Week. During the week of April 13 – 19, Americans will recognize the contributions that libraries, librarians and library workers make to preserve and improve our way of life. Why not take this opportunity to visit some Ohio library websites and discover what they have to offer? You can use OPLIN's Find an Ohio Public Library page to search for libraries by name, or you can browse by location using an interactive map.

    • March Sites of the Month
      March is National Women's History Month. ExploreOhio is commemorating this event by featuring two websites that provide information about the indispensable contributions Ohio women have made to our heritage.

      The first site is ExploreOhio's own Ohio Women. Here, you will find links to information about historically significant Ohio women and links to institutions in Ohio that collect and preserve manuscripts that document the experiences and achievements of women in history.

    • The second site is Ohio History Central's compilation of entries specifically related to Ohio women. This collection has 200 encyclopedia-style articles about Ohio women and organizations that have shaped the history of the Buckeye State.
    • February Site of the Month
      You spoke and we listened. Our visitation statistics indicate that one of ExploreOhio's more popular features is Ohio School Websites. Because of your interest, we have greatly expanded this section of ExploreOhio. The private school pages now contain links to nearly 700 private schools with websites in Ohio.

      Let it snow! Let it snow! If you are a skiing enthusiast you will want to visit OPLIN's Ohio Ski Resorts page. This page features links to ski resorts and skiing information in Ohio.     128 Ohio General Assembly

    The electorate made sweeping changes to the Ohio legislature in last November's elections. Ohio's 128th General Assembly will be sworn in on January 5th. Visit the General Assembly's website after that date to see the new makeup of the legislature. In addition to information about pending legislation and legislative schedules, the site contains direct links to the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate, as well as a finding-aid for identifying legislative members.
